Haddon Township, N.J. – Founded in a Camden County family room in 2001, local business VSA Prospecting has always prioritized giving back to the community that helped it grow. One of the B2B lead generation firm’s holiday traditions is to make a charitable gift on behalf of its clients.
This year, the company is making a generous contribution to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern New Jersey—for the tenth year in a row.
The Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission is to enable all young people, especially those most in need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. The organization traditionally provides summer camps, after school programs, and ongoing mentorships for children with adult professionals.
“The organization and its mission have always been close to my heart. I was introduced by a fellow entrepreneur over ten years ago, and in 2019, I finally joined the board.” says Valerie Schlitt, VSA’s owner and founder. “The difference that the Boys & Girls Clubs make for families and children couldn’t be more meaningful—especially during such a tumultuous year.”
COVID-19 forced the organization to make significant changes to the services it provided during 2020, a year in which its services were perhaps more valuable than ever. The Camden-based branch helped local children face the challenges of the pandemic by providing free laptops for online schooling and establishing a socially-distant remote learning center for those unable to attend school from home—both vital lifelines allowing children in need to continue their education.
“It’s been inspiring to see how the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern New Jersey managed to make such a difference for our community even during the pandemic,” reflects Ms. Schlitt. “It’s so humbling to think that we’ve been able to continue contributing for an entire decade.”
