Houston TX – On Thursday, November 9, Southwest Endodontics will train local dentists on the benefits of the GentleWave System, a root canal treatment process that minimizes drilling, and maximizes patient comfort throughout an often complex procedure.
Presenters Dr. Ron Hill and Dr. Chad Goodman will show actual patient cases that highlight the advantages of the GentleWave System over traditional root canal treatment.
“When performing a root canal, the objective is to remove the damaged and infected tissue inside of a tooth while minimizing loss of tooth structure which typically occurs in traditional root canal procedures. We can quickly relieve a patient’s toothache pain, usually with less post-operative discomfort than traditional procedures” said Dr. Ron Hill, a graduate of The University of Texas School of Dentistry with 22 years of experience. “We decided to implement the GentleWave System based on the potential for improved patient outcomes, which to us is as important as the benefit for patients” he said.
Participants are eligible to earn CE credits after attending the 90 minute event, which begins at 6.00pm at Hotel ZaZa in the Houston Museum District. In addition to the in-person event, dentists can watch a live stream of the presentation, but this option cannot be used for CE credits.
A second presenter, Dr. Chad Goodman, also a graduate of the University of Texas School of Dentistry, added, “Tooth anatomy is very complex and traditional root canal techniques have limits, especially on molars. Using the GentleWave system, we can now clean out all the infected tissue in even the most complicated tooth anatomy with less drilling. Typically, this allows our patients to be more comfortable throughout the process. Our referring dentists and their patients have been very pleased with the results.”
Dr. Teil Lew, a prominent dentist and patient of Southwest Endodontics, was treated by Dr. Hill for his root canal treatment. He said ”I had not even heard of the GentleWave before I went to Dr. Hill for my root canal. When I was treated using this new technology I was intrigued. Now that I’ve experienced firsthand how painless and comfortable the GentleWave is, I will want the same for my patients that need a root canal.” Dr. Lew was so impressed with the GentleWave he brought his mother to Southwest Endodontics for the GentleWave procedure when she needed a root canal.
